Take action for World Mental Health Day 2025

Oct 10, 2025|

World Mental Health Day takes place each year on October 10th. The day marks an opportunity for us all to pause and engage in a conversation about mental health and how we can make sure that we’re continuously focused on improving our mental well-being and caring for others.

The World Federation for Mental Health has a different theme every year to support World Mental Health Day, and this year’s theme highlights accessibility to mental health services. It’s more important than ever for those who are experiencing a mental health crisis to know where they can go for support. Signposting in the community, within healthcare settings, and at work, is vital to helping people protect their mental health, because every single one of us deserves good mental health.

The mental health of our employees continues to be a core focus; we are committed to improving employee well-being, and to support this, we have a dedicated well-being team. Prioritising signposting, providing mental health first aid training and workshops, and arranging activities to provide either health or financial advice, our well-being team is there to help our people. A dedicated well-being email address is available, providing employees with an effective point of contact at any time so they can reach out easily for support or give feedback or suggestions on activities.

This year, we have trained nine mental health first aiders from all areas of the business to ensure that our employees always have someone they can turn to when needed. In addition, we have partnered with a Wales-based charity, bigmoose, dedicated to helping individuals in the UK facing mental health challenges by providing access to specialist support. By combining our internal mental health first aid training with our partnership with bigmoose, we are creating more varied avenues for our employees to seek help in a way that is most comfortable for them, offering them support both in and outside of the workplace.

To further support our people, we are running a workshop that will focus on how to support people who are suicidal. This informed course will cover how to spot the signs that somebody is at risk of suicide, how to ask the question, and what to do if the answer is yes.

Of course, there’s never a day off from mental health – we should always consider and take care of it as we would our physical health.
