Bisley Support RISOTTO Studio Launch

Apr 20, 2026|

A continuation of Bisley’s colourful year-long partnership with RISOTTO Studio, we were pleased to support the launch of the studio’s new headquarters, located in The Glue Factory in Glasgow, earlier this month.

A new, vibrant creative space designed by RISOTTO founder Gabriella Marcella, we furnished the studio to complement the brand’s bold graphic language. The space functions as both a working print studio and a creative hub, hosting workshops, exhibitions and events that celebrate RISOTTO’s distinctive risograph process.

Working closely with Gabriella, we transformed the space with a curated selection of our iconic storage pieces, including MultiDrawer units in a variety of sizes, Outline, LateralFile, and a selection of classic filing cabinets, card filers, and items from the Bisley x RISOTTO collaboration.

We attended the studio opening on 10 April, seeing the installation first-hand and experiencing risograph printing through a workshop that guided us through the process. It offered clear insight into the layers behind Gabriella’s work. The evening launch event marked the unveiling of the RISO CLUB 100 exhibition, celebrating the 100th issue milestone of the not-for-profit initiative, with over 400 risograph designs from artists worldwide on display, alongside tours of the RISOTTO Studio. The exhibition ran from 11–19 April at The Glue Factory Galleries.

Blending established classics with a bold use of colour, each Bisley piece selected for the studio redesign was specified in a mix of vibrant finishes, from Bisley Blue and Bisley Pink to Cardinal Red and Golden Sunflower Yellow. A subtle nod to our classic Coffee and Cream palette adds depth, with unexpected combinations reflecting RISOTTO’s visual language.

The installation embraces individuality through contrasting colours, including alternating drawers and layered tones across the design. Custom configurations imagined by Gabriella reflect the energy and playfulness of the RISOTTO brand.

Gabriella Marcella, founder of RISOTTO Studio, said: “Welcoming people into my own design world is a key part of this experience. I want to share my passion for colour, process, and the positive impact it can have on our lives.”

This project follows the first phase of the collaboration, unveiled at Clerkenwell Design Week 2025. The initial partnership saw a series of sold-out Bisley classics, including Fern units and the MultiDrawer collection, reimagined through RISOTTO’s distinctive printed steel finishes, featuring Gabriella’s playful geometric ‘Tetris’ pattern, bringing her graphic language directly onto the surface of the furniture.
