Bisley presents ‘Spaces That Lead.’ at London Design Festival 2026 Aug 24, 2026| Événements British furniture manufacturer Bisley returns to London Design Festival with an elevated exploration of its core materials, bringing together steel, timber and textile at Design at Work. London, September 2026 – Bisley will take part in London Design Festival 2026 with Spaces That Lead., a new installation at Design at Work, held at Protein Studios in the Shoreditch Design Triangle from 15–17 September. Centred around an elevated executive workspace, Spaces That Lead. explores a more expressive side of Bisley’s core offer, bringing together the materials that have long defined the business with colour, texture and softer forms. At the heart of the installation are Bisley’s Align desk and Outline frame system, presented alongside two Circular chairs from Thomas Montgomery, part of the Bisley group. Together, the pieces create a considered workspace that balances the precision and structure of steel with the warmth of timber and the tactility of upholstery. The installation takes its colour direction from the richly textured bouclé fabric selected for the Thomas Montgomery seating. Flecks of red, black, silver and pale green within the textile inform the wider palette, translating individual threads of colour into finishes across the furniture and creating a visual connection between the upholstered and steel elements of the space. The entire setting is grounded by a Bolon Artisan ‘Love’ rug, introducing a rich field of red beneath the furniture and amplifying one of the key tones drawn from the upholstery. Its woven structure adds another layer of texture to the installation, bringing together textile, flooring, timber and steel within a single material palette. Metallic and chrome accents provide a contemporary reference to the material at the heart of Bisley’s manufacturing heritage: steel. Rather than moving away from the qualities for which Bisley is known, Spaces That Lead. looks at how these foundations can be expressed differently through richer materials, considered detailing and a more tactile approach to workplace design. Align brings together steel and timber within a refined desking system, introducing natural warmth while retaining the strength and clarity of its steel structure. Behind it, Outline takes a more architectural approach to storage and display, using Bisley’s expertise in steel to create structure within the space. The Circular chair from Thomas Montgomery introduces softness and sculptural form, providing a deliberate contrast to the linear geometry of Align and Outline. Together, the installation presents a broader expression of Bisley’s design and manufacturing capabilities – from steel storage and desking to timber and upholstery – while remaining rooted in the quality, functionality and longevity at the heart of the Bisley offer. Spaces That Lead. will be presented as part of Design at Work during London Design Festival 2026, offering a contemporary expression of Bisley’s manufacturing heritage and the evolving role of material, colour and texture in the workplace.
