Give to Gain this International Women's Day

Mar 6, 2026|

On Sunday, 8th March, International Women’s Day will be celebrated worldwide. This important occasion recognises the achievements of women and girls, while also acknowledging the progresses made in our ever-evolving society.

For over a hundred years, International Women’s Day (IWD) recognises and highlights some of the many issues still affecting women’s advancements today. Although women and their achievements should be recognised and celebrated every day, this is an important day to mark, as it raises awareness about discrimination, gender equality, and so much more.

Give to Gain

Every year, International Women’s Day brings focus to a new theme, with 2026’s campaign being ‘Give to Gain’. Encouraging a mindset of generosity and collaboration, this emphasises the power of reciprocity and support. Outlined by IWD, Give to Gain encourages people, organisations, and communities to give generously so that opportunities and visibility for women increase.

How we’re supporting IWD

We know that manufacturing is widely considered a male-dominated industry, but at Bisley, we are determined to challenge and change this. We have a number of women in senior positions across the business, as well as women in key roles in Design and on our factory floor and production line, who are continuously pushing the boundaries of innovation, creativity and bringing fresh perspectives.

To support this, our colleagues are offered courses and workshops that benefit progression, satisfaction, and personal growth. In the last year, Bisley offered a Project Leadership course, provided by Palladium Training, a Mental Health First Aid, provided by St John Ambulance, and continuously work with training providers to improve knowledge and skillset.

To show our support for the Give to Gain campaign, we have chosen to support Cyfannol Women’s Aid by providing a donation. The charity works across Gwent, local to our headquarters and manufacturing facility, supporting women and children who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse, harm or violence by providing specialist support and safe refuge. Cyfannol Women’s Aid’s vision is a world where everyone can live free from abuse. Through this partnership, we hope to continue making a meaningful contribution to women and families within our local community.

Between 2024–2025, Cyafnnol Women's Aid supported more than 3,000 people across Gwent. If you need support, advice, or someone to talk to, please call their confidential helpline on 03300 564456.

Conclusion

We can all play our part this International Women’s Day. Whether you’re hosting an event, raising vital funds, or simply having important conversations between colleagues or friends, everyone everywhere can help to support and champion women’s equality.
